Abdirauf Ahmed Dekow is a 4th year Medicine and Surgery student who volunteers as a Content Creator at iSHA. Recently Abdirauf had the opportunity to work on translating the “Understanding Parkinson’s Disease” booklet into Somali, a resource created as part of the S.E.E (supporting, educating, empowering) Parkinson’s Health Literacy Initiative in a collaboration between Parkinson’s Africa and the International Parkinson’s Disease Genomics Consortium - Africa (IPDGC-Africa).
See below what Abdirauf has to say about this opportunity:
"The Somali community needs accessible information about Parkinson's disease (PD). As our population ages, PD will only become more prevalent. I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to work on this project."
